It is the mission of the Emergency Medical Service Division of the Boston Police Patrolmen’s Association to advocate for the rights and benefits of its members through collective bargaining and political activism. The EMTs, Paramedics, Lieutenants, and Captains represented by this Union stand committed to protect, and provide the highest level of prehospital care for the residents and visitors of the City of Boston. We represent approximately 400 of the hardest working men and women in the city of Boston who have been on the front lines of the opioid and COVID-19 pandemics. Our members respond to approximately 135,000 calls per year caring for patients experiencing medical, traumatic, and even behavioral or psychological emergencies while supporting upwards of 600 special events ranging from concerts, sports events, to the Boston Marathon.
